Short films – Flintstones

Anyone who had any contact with the Flintstones universe may have noticed that the technology is very similar to modern technology, but presented in an original way – the shower is an elephant using its trunk, the gramophone uses a bird and its beak instead of a needle, etc. Turtles are also a very popular theme, most often shown as protective helmets in the quarries where Fred and Barney works, but they also have many other uses, both as shells and whole live turtles. Below are short films in which we noticed some turtle elements:

The Flintstones: Fred’s Final Fling (Year: 1980)
The turtle appears here as a real animal, used as a violin, in the same scene turtles are used as rattles. Turtle shell is also used as an unspecified thing on the tables in the restaurant, later you can also see two frying pans that seem to be made of turtle shells.

The Flintstones’ New Neighbors (Year: 1980)
The turtle shell can only be seen as a protective helmet worn by Fred.

The Flintstones: Jogging Fever (Year: 1981)
Turtle shells appear primarily as protective helmets in many scenes. In addition, however, in one scene, running Fred passes a real, live turtle.

The Flintstone Kids’ “Just Say No” Special (Year: 1988)
The turtle shell appears only as a protective helmet.

A Flintstone Family Christmas (Year: 1993)
A real live turtle plays the role of a telephone, three turtle shells are used in a game of three cups.

Dino: Stay Out! (Year: 1995)
A turtle shell can be seen in one scene, as a sink.

Dino: The Great Egg-Scape (Year: 1997)
The turtle shell appears as a kind of bowl where a large egg is stored, and as an alarm system gong.
