Why in Database: A series produced by Amazon, so far there have been two series of eight episodes. In the second episode (Cherry) of the first series, the turtle appears – where the main characters are in some kind of a basement, there is a program showing a turtle on the TV – the thoughts of one of the characters related to this are important for the further action, and so it can be said that the turtle also played an important role.

There are two episodes with turtle elements in the second season. In the sixth episode (The Bloody Doors Off) the song “Happy Together” by The Turtles was used as part of the soundtrack. In the seventh episode (Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker), one of the characters watches a porn-version of superhero adventures on a TV set. On a inflated pool there are some easy to miss sea turtles.

Why in Database: Turtle elements appear in nine episodes of the series Bones, described below:

The first mention is made in The Baby in the Bough (Season 3, Episode 12), in dialogue about Cayman Islands.

– What do you know about the Cayman Islands?
– Great diving. You know, lots of sea turtles.

In Yanks in the UK (season 4, episode 1) we have a reference to Ninja Turtles, one of the characters (Sweets) tells another about an episode from his childhood, the main element is fact that a kid living next door had a vehicle from the ninja turtles, the Party Wagon.

When I was ten, the kid next door had a turtle party wagon. It’s an accessory for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures. It’s a toy.

In The Predator in the Pool (season 5, episode 18), one of the characters, Hodgins, describes what he has on a tray (which is not very visible) containing crime scene items, and mentions sea turtles feces.

I believe this is some sort of sea turtle feces, a rusty paper clip, and the broken spine of a lionfish.

In The Rocker in the Rinse Cycle (season 5, episode 19) there is a mention of a tortoiseshell as a material from which a guitar pick can be made.

My dad uses a Nicaraguan Cordoba. Some guys use tortoise shells or shark’s tooth.

In The Finder (season 6, episode 19) there is a song by James McMurtry, named Bayou Tortue. Fragment of lyrics is below:

Got a idea tell you what let’s do
Let’s go out to that place on the Turtle Bayou
We’ll maybe get lucky, maybe get shot
It couldn’t be half of the trouble I got
Turtle Bayou turn around

In The Prisoner in the Pipe (season 7, episode 7), at the very beginning, the father encourages/persuades the doughter to use the toilet on her own. She says what she would like “as a reward”, mentioning a brown cat and a turtle.

I want a brown cat and a turtle!

In The Geek in the Guck (season 10, episode 4) the snapping turtle is mentioned in both its Latin and English names as an explanation for some of the injuries seen on the found corpse. As a result, he appears in several dialogues throughout the episode.

– Who would cut out somebody’s eyes, nose, lips and ears?
– A Chelydra serpentina. It’s no psycho killer, it’s just an eastern snapping turtle having a little snack.

– She’s right, the arms were torn off.
– Well, don’t blame the turtle for that.

You’re just in time for us to put back what the turtles snapped away.

– Nearly all of these wounds are perimortem.
– So we can rule out turtles.

In The Head in the Abutment (season 11, episode 19) the turtle appears in exactly the same context as in the previous episode described above. With both Latin and English names, the snapping turtle is mentioned, it is considered the source of most injuries.

– Well, the fish definitely made a few nibbles here and there, but I think most of the damage I’m seeing is done by Chelydra serpentina.
– That would be the eastern snapping turtle, loser.
– Yeah, that’s what I said, cheater.

The last mention is in The Final Chapter: The radioactive Panthers in the Party (season 12, episode 10) where Booth, the main character, tells another character, a younger agent, that he is driving like a turtle.

– You’re like a turtle behind the wheel. You’re like
– What?
– a turtle.

Why in Database: Turtle themes appear in four episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

In Grave Danger (season 5, episode 24), the music of The Turtles is used, the recording that the kidnapper sent to the lab includes the song Outside Chance.

In Big Shots (season 7, episode 19), one character tells about the limo he was riding, at a slow pace.

See, first of all, that limo was turtle stepping’ it down the block.

In Kill Me if You Can (season 9, episode 15), turtle plays an important role because it has the status of a witness – it was splashed with blood. Therefore, Gareth (because that’s his name) is visible in a few scenes and in a large number of dialogues.

– Well, the blood void means that the tortoise was there during the shooting.

– Wonder if he’s a rare species. ‘Cause I read that African tortoises can be worth as much as $10,000.
– Just please hurry, okay? ‘Cause he’s been traumatized enough already.
– He’s a material witness in a homicide investigation.
– I meant traumatized by you.
– So who brings a tortoise to a gunfight? If the killer was trying to take it with him after he killed the girl, then it stands to reason that the killer brought it in the first place.
– Or maybe it was hers, which is why he killed her.

– The tortoise gave you up, man. We found your prints on his shell in Jena’s blood.
– Wait a minute, you have Gareth? Is he okay? Can I see him?
– That puts you at the murder, jackass.
– All right,okay. Yeah,I-I was there.
– Right.
– But I didn’t kill her. Jena was going through some stuff. Okay? So she wanted to go to Vegas to,uh pick herself up, have a little fun. You know? So I thought I’d just drop in on her, and I brought Gareth. She loved that tortoise.

– Jena, what have you got there?
– Not “what” Who. Say hello, Gareth. He’s a gift. For Mickey.
-Um, slow and steady wins the race, dude.

– Gareth Morton? The broher’s name is Gareth?
– Yes, like the cat.
– And the tortoise.
– And the dog.

In The Descent of Man (season 9, episode 19) there is only one mention of the turtle in the dialogue, but the turtle itself is quite crucial. The dialogue is abot various things that fall from the sky, poisons, people, turtles and it takes place after the main character has solved the case in which the killer turned out to be a bird and the murder weapon is the turtle threw from the air – which, of course, is a reference to the figure of Aeschylus, which the main character also mentions in this episode.

– Seems like a lot of things keep falling out of the sky, right? Poison, people, turtles.
– Tortoises.
– Whatever.

Turtle motifs appear in it in three episodes of season one and in one episode of season two. In addition, in the fifth episode ( Number Five – Number Five) the music of the band “The Turtles” is used, to be specific, their most recognizable song, “Happy Together“.
In the second episode of the second season (The Frankel Footage) on the desk of one of the characters you can see a turtle shell, used as a decoration. In season three, the turtles only appear in the dialogues, in episode eight (Wedding at the End of the World) Klaus claims that father on this season is different, he is like a turtle, tough on the outside but nice and sometimes delicious inside.
In Episode 10 (Oblivion) there is another mention, the character on the TV says that once people believed that the earth rest on four flying turtles.

– This dad’s different. He’s a turtle. Hard on the outside, but all cute and wrinkly and occasionally delicious on the inside.

– In the Quantum Age, time and space are suspected to be a holograph. Ancient people believed we rode on the back of four flying turtles or on the horns of a white buffalo.
