Why in Database: A one-season series with a few turtle elements, most of it revolves around a pet belonging to the main character’s grandson.

In episode one (Miss Lady Hawk Herself) the heroine buys a terrarium for the said turtle, there is a long dialogue about it in the shop, and earlier she is also seen searching the internet for information about turtles. There is also the text “Cowabunga” in a context clearly referring to Ninja Turtles. We also learn the turtle’s name, Kevin.

– Yeah, I’m looking for a… For… like a turtle tank. Do you have, like, a tank for turtles?
– Yes, we do. Um, how about this one? This is the Amphibian Life 1500. This one’s got a UVB heating kit. This is a nice one. And it’s got…

Why in Database: We tracked turtle elements in four episodes of this series.

The first is the mention in the second episode of season one (The Crossing), where one of the characters mentions his dead turtle, in two dialogues:

– Do you know what it means to die?
– My turtle died. I woke up, and he wasn’t there anymore. I was looking for him, and my dad had told me he died. He threw him away. I never got to say goodbye. Is that what’s going to happen with me?
– No. Honey, it isn’t.
– I hardly remember that turtle.
– Everyone will remember you, Kenny. I promise. No one who knows you, who loves you, will ever forget you.

– And grandma will be waiting. And…
– Stubby?
– He wants to know about someone named Stubby?
– Yes. Stubby the turtle…

In the eighth episode of the fifth season (Dead Listing) the turtle appears only in the form of verbal and written mention, the main character’s son has special powers and asks the clerk in the shop for magic tricks to write the word on a piece of paper, after which, not seeing it, guesses it. We also see this card.

– All right. i’m ready.
– Turtle.
– That’s awesome.

– There is no way he could have known that the word was “turtle.”

In episode fourteen of the fifth season (Dead to Me) you can see a terrarium with a turtle.

In the fifteenth episode of the fifth season (Imlosion) there is a turtle seen above, but only in the dialogues, because he is dead, we see his grave.

– He was loved and he died too young. even so,he had a big impact on a lot of lives.
– Giovanni was the best turtle in the world.

– You ok?
– Yeah.
– I’m sorry about giovanni. i know the two of you were close.

Why in Database: Turtle elements appear in several episodes of this series, both in the form of verbal references and as real animals.

First appearance in season one, episode ten (Six Months Ago), where turtle is mentioned in dialogue:

– Evolutionary imperative.
– That which we are destined to do.
– Sea turtles die on the exact same beach where they were born.

Another mention is yet again in season one, episode fourteen (Distractions):

– Hi. Yeah, we’re at the aquarium right now. They just let Zach feed him turtle grass. We’re practically on our way.

We found more turtle elements in the third season. One of the characters “meets” the turtle in episode two (The Butterfly Effect) and even thinks that it is talking to him, which is not true (another human is speaking).

– Thank you, turtle. You saved my life.
– Why are you talking to a turtle?

In the third episode of the third season (One of Us, One of Them) the turtle described above appears again.

This turtle appears also in episode four of the third season (I Am Become Death).

After a one-episode break, in the sixth episode of the third season (Dying of the Light) the turtle reappears, the hero travels with him, returns to civilization. He is also mentioned in dialogues:

– Okay, turtle, you got me home. So now we just need to find Daphne, save her life, get her to fall in love with me. So you just give me a sign. I can’t believe I’m talking to a turtle. High five, turtle.

– And we had this beautiful baby girl and this pet turtle, and we’re so happy.

In episode seven of the third season (Eris Quod Sum), the turtle only appears in one scene, in the terrarium, but he is clearly visible.
The final turtle scene that we found is in episode fourteen of the third season (A Clear and Present Danger), turtle is both seen and mentioned in dialogue:

– Hey, how the hell did you get out of your tank?
