Why in Database: Turtles appears in five episodes of Desperate Housewives.
The first and most important case we have in Come Back to Me (season 1, episode 10), we have a significant segment in which mom tries to read to her children a fairy tale about Harvey, the flying turtle (we can also see the cover).
– All right, “harvey the flying turtle.” Doesn’t this look fun.
– Where’s Claire?
– I gave her the afternoon off. Who wants to turn pages?
– Is she sick?
– No, she’s fine. I just wanted us all to spend the day together, you know? Like we used to. Here we go. “Once upon a time, there was a young turtle named harvey. “Every day, harvey would tell all the other turtles, “‘one day, I’m going to fly off this island “and go see the world. ‘The other turtles laughed and said,’turtles can’t fly. ‘” Ooh, it’s getting good now, huh? In Dress Big (season 3, episode 17), when mom tells her son to go to sleep, he replied, that he wants to show another character (Carlos) his new turtle.

In Mother Said (season 4, episode 15) the turtle appears in dialogue, the children declare to their mother that they are going to buy a gift for her, adding that they hope she likes turtles.
– We’re gonna go get your present.
– Yeah. Okay.
– I hope you like turtles.
In Any Moment (season 8, episode 18), the unruly boy is excused by the fact that his father has just died, which is emphasized by his mother in the dialogue-comparison that it was the fathers death and not the lost of favorite toy or turtle pet.
– Um I mean, it’s not like he just lost his favorite toy or a pet turtle. He lost his dad.
In Give Me the Blame (season 8, episode 22), one of the characters pretends to be reading the newspaper’s sports section – when the protagonist asks her what her favorite basketball team is, she replies that “The Turtles”, (which as far as we know is not the name of any non-super-niche team).
– Yep, just sitting here on the porch, reading the ol’ sports section.
– You hate sports And reading.
– But I love you, and you love sports, So I’ve started to really get into it.
– Really? What’s your favorite basketball team?
– The turtles.
