Of course, we simplifying the rich history and relationships of these two in the rich publishing history of the X-Men.
The second book of X-Men Fairy Tales deals, as it says, with the African fairy tale about the friendship between an eagle and a turtle. Magneto plays the role of an eagle, a bloodthirsty predator, while Xavier is a turtle, marked with an X on its shell, which is why even other turtles reject him. He, however, nevertheless stands up in their defense, when the eagle came, he is offering bargain, his life for sparing theirs.
