Turtwig (and its evolutions, Grotle and Torterra) is another of the turtle-pokemon that appeared in the Poke-world. The grassy turtle was in Ash’s team, and in various episodes other specimens also appeared, either in other trainer’s teams or as part of “guessing” games.
Below is a list of the episodes in which this Pokemon appears – the first number is the overall episode number, the second is the episode number within the sub-series, AG is Advanced Generation, PK is a special episode (focusing on Pikachu) and PG is Pokemon Generations. Turtwig:
467 – DP001 – Following A Maiden’s Voyage! – Turtwig is shown on Dawn’s invitation, then in her imagination. Later, another one also appears with the professor.
470 – DP003 – Dawn Of A New Era! – Some trainer’s Turtwig shows up.
497 – DP031 – The Grass-Type Is Always Greener! – Gardenia’s Turtwig appears.
499 – DP033 – All Dressed Up With Somewhere To Go! – A Trapinch disguised as Turtwig appears, showed as Pokémon which won last year’s “dress up” contest.
502 – DP036 – A Secret Sphere of Influence! – Gadrenia’s Turtwig reappears.
503 – DP037 – The Grass Menagerie! – Gadrenia’s Turtwig reappears again.
520 – DP054 – Once There Were Greenfields – Gadrenia’s Turtwig reappears once more.
539 – DP070 – The Bells Are Singing – Some Turtwig is visible in the newspaper.
592 – DP126 – Classroom Training! – A Turtwig shows up, standing, he appears also in a flashback.
627 – DP161 – Yes in Dee Dee, It’s Dawn! – There is a tale of Turtwig and Bunneary, a classic reference to a Tortoise and the Hare (but you can’t see any Turtwig here).
791 – BW134 – The Journalist from Another Region! – There are pictures of Turtwigs.
1089 – JN004 – Settling the Scorbunny! – Turtwig appears.
1131 – JN046 – Getting More Than You Battled For! – Squirtle and Turtwig appears at the very beginning.
1143 – JN058 – A Rollicking Roll… Eyes on the Goal! – An episode whose second section is completely turtle, with all the Poke-turtles appearing in it (existing at the moment of the episode’s premiere, of course), including Turtwig. We have screenshots from this episode separately, in this note.
1175 – JN090 – Showdown at the Gates of Warp! – Turtwig appears.
It is worth mentioning that before many episodes there was also something like an additional intro, with information about what Ash and Goh’s goal is. In the fragment with Goh, you could see the outlines of Pokemon, in the first version, Squirtle and Turtwig, in the second version, Torterra.
