Why in Database: A four-episode history and nature series about Central America, its ancient peoples (Aztecs, Mayans, Tainas) and their relationship with nature. Turtles appear in three episodes. The first episode (The Forging of a New World) has a lot of sea turtles in it. In the second episode (Forests of the Maya) we have less turtle scenes – there is one in the form of a drawing, there is also a real turtle which the Jaguar tries eat, ineffectively. Last element are remains of a dead turtle. The third episode (Hunters of the Caribbean Sea) features an egg-laying leatherback turtle and a native who steals some of the eggs.
