Why in Database:Pokey and Trundle are two turtles, cousins, appearing in comics published as part of Four color – Uncle Wiggily. Pokey is present in more stories, Trundle only in two, where he competes with his cousin for the right to swim in the frog’s pond.
Four color #0349 – Uncle Wiggily: Cover, many pages in two stories. In the first story, Pokey competes with its cousin, Trundle. The latter is cheating, but thanks to Wiggily’s help, Pokey wins. Pokey reappears in the fourth story, taking place a few months after the first. The turtle cannot enjoy his pond (the use of which was won by “law” from his cousin) because an alligator has moved in there. Wiggily helps him again, the three of them, in collaboration with the beaver, make the alligator go away.
Four color #0428 – Uncle Wiggily: Cover, one story (first). Pokey witnessed the kidnapping of one of the characters, Sammy, of which he informed Wiggily. Together they went to save the kidnapped.
Four color #0503 – Uncle Wiggily: In the first story, he is on two pages, as an element of the plot – he bought (unknowingly) stolen canned peaches. The second story is full of Poky and Trundle, they argue over the pond again (and Pokey wins again, thanks to Wiggily).
Four color #0543 – Uncle Wiggily: Present in one comic book, he argues with the wolf Shaggy about who first noticed the coin on the ground, and therefore who can take it. As usual, Wiggily tries to help solve the problem.
