Rocko’s Modern Life – Comics

Why in Database: In the Rocko’s Modern Life series, one of the main characters was the turtle, Filburt. In the comic books inspired by the series (the 7-issue series, released in 1994 and published from December 2017, the so far (still published) five-issue series, both with the title identical to the series) he also appears, sometimes less, sometimes more. Below we take a look on these comics, of course through the turtle filter.

1994 series:

Rocko’s Modern Life #01: In the first issue, Filburt appears only on two frames, on first one he is of the characters in the dentist’s waiting room.

Rocko’s Modern Life #02: In this issue, Filburt is visible only in one frame

Rocko’s Modern Life #04: Again, only visible in one frame, but has a large (for a one-frame appearance) spoken role.

Rocko’s Modern Life #07: The last issue of the series, for a change, Filburt has a big role here, he wants to get to the convention, but loses his glasses and is robbed. He is also mistaked by the organizers as a person that played the role of one of the “pre-pubescent mutant kung-fu tortoise”, an obvious reference to Ninja Turtles. A large number of frames, in four of them there is also another female turtle, Cindy.

The series that started in 2017:

Rocko’s Modern Life #01: So far, Filburt has appeared in all issues of the new comic series. In the first issue, he already appears on the cover and on several frames in the comic.

Rocko’s Modern Life #02: He again appears on the cover and in a large number of frames, including one on which he explains what is really important in life.

Rocko’s Modern Life #03: He is visible again on the cover and in a large number of frames in the comic.

Rocko’s Modern Life #04: Cover and mane frames.

Rocko’s Modern Life #05: Filbert is visible in four frames, his smalles apperance in this series sofar.
