Why in Database: The turtle element in this movie is rather unusual and has not been widely known over the years. It wasn’t until 2013, when Gary Rydstrom spoke for Vulture about how some of the dinosaur sounds in the movie were made. He revealed that the sounds of calling velociraptors (probably in the kitchen scene, from which screenshots we have added below) had as their basis the sounds of making turtles.
