Why in Database: The turtle in this movie appears only as a mention in the dialogue, one of the characters (talking persons are two Native Americans from different tribes) states that their chieftains got wise and did not fight or run away. The interlocutor replies that it is behaviour of a turtle, to which the former asks if the latter is afraid of the turtles, probably seeing his people’s survival in being “harmless” to white settlers.

– But there our chiefs grew wise. They did not fight and they did not run.
– Neither does the turtle.
– Are you afraid of the turtle? Then put your knife away.
